Amnesty International: The Weapon of the NGO-Human Rights-Western Governments-Church Complex

Uncovering the funding sources and cast of characters in Amnesty International

One of the best resources that comprehensively documents the global shenanigans of Amnesty International on an ongoing basis is NGO Monitor, a NGO watchdog website based in Jerusalem. While its research on NGOs is mostly Israel-centric, its value lies in the fact that it provides substantial data on these NGOs most of which are akin to giant global corporations in terms of scale, organisational efficiency, functioning, and operations. Its dossier on Amnesty International is highly notable for this observation:

Disproportionately singles out Israel for condemnation, focusing solely on the conflict with the Palestinians, misrepresenting the complexity of the conflict, and ignoring more severe human rights violations in the region.

Sounds familiar with Amnesty's decades-long meddling in the Pakistan-sponsored Jihad in Kashmir?

Long story short, NGO Monitor's note makes it crystal clear that Amnesty International has all kinds of close links with a variety of Jihadi outfits across the world including the Taliban. We'll examine this point much later in this series.

Let's look at its funding first. Says NGO Watch:

Although [Amnesty International] claims that it does not “accept any funds for human rights research from governments or political parties from governments or political parties,” it has received governmental funding, including from the UK Department for International Development (DFID), the European Commission, the Netherlands, the United States, and Norway.

Note the names of two prominent countries: the Netherlands and Norway listed by this NGO watchdog as fomenting trouble in Israel. Now read this excerpt from a damning 2014 expose on the role of NGOs in instigating protests against the Kudankulam nuclear project.

Hillary Clinton likes to operate through NGOs, which are given funding through indirect channels, and which target individuals and countries seen as less than respectful to her views on foreign and domestic policy in the target countries," a retired US official now based in Atlanta said. He claimed that "rather than US NGOs, (the former) Secretary of State Clinton favoured operating through organisations based in the Netherlands, Denmark and the Scandinavian countries, especially Norway."

The anti-Kudankulam protests became so unhinged that the then Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa were spooked enough to personally intervene. The result: a Prime Minister who continued to remain helpless. For a straightforward reason: his government was being run by a deadly and powerful cabal of NGOs titled the National Advisory Council (NAC).

Amnesty International and Greenpeace were among the more influential breaking India forces who exerted unremitting pressure against the arrest of the anti-Kudankulam protestors.

This was how deep and wide they had spread their tentacles. Indeed, it is nothing short of a miracle that India actually survived the 2004-14 dark decade.

Next, let's look at this tidbit from the International Business Times, which published a report in 2013 on Amnesty’s funding anomalies:

Irene Khan, who had led the organization since 2001, was given a severance pay package of more than £533,000 ($760,000 in 2012 currency), while her deputy Kate Gilmore received a hefty £325,244 ($493,000) payout… An Australian blogger thundered: “I am not sure about an international organization that collects donations and then pays the leaving secretary general £533,103 or 4 times her yearly wage... That is a lot of money and I am sure [it] could have been used much better to champion fight for human rights that Amnesty International go on about.”… in 2007, the Catholic Church, a long-time supporter of Amnesty, withdrew donations owing to the group's pro-abortion stance….in 2008, the campaigners received a four-year grant from the British government's Department for International Development (DFID in excess £3 million, including more than £840,000 in 2011 alone… Amnesty has also received funds from the European Commission, as well as from the government of Netherlands, the U.S., and Norway. In 2009, NGO-Monitor cites, Amnesty received €2.5 million (approximately 1 percent of its donations) from government entities. The British government was the third largest donor (at €800,000). Amnesty also received government funding in 2008 (€1million), 2007 (€1 million), and 2006 (€2 million).

There they are again: the Netherlands and Norway. Oh! another prized recipient of the British Government's DFID aid is a one-man breaking India force named Harsh Mander, the most powerful member if not the ringleader of Sonia Gandhi's NAC.

The aforementioned report also mentions the name of Amnesty International’s Secretary General, Salil Shetty who “earns nearly £200,000 ($305,000) a year.” Salil Shetty is the son of the Bangalore-based hate monger, V.T. Rajashekhar, publisher of the notorious journal, Dalit Voice, which Arun Shourie characterized as a “venomous rag.” Rajashekhar is a seasoned offender arrested on several occasions under such stringent acts as the TADA.

Which brings us to the question of conflicts of interest, which are aplenty and the nexus, deadly to say the least. Let's look at a short list of names and brief bios of the eminences that have occupied top positions at Amnesty International at various points in the past.

1. Aakar Patel, India head of Amnesty International has a lengthy and substantial record of baiting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in racist language and generally inventing and promoting a casteist narrative of the Hindu society. His wife, Tushita Aakar Patel was the political secretary of the disgraced and fugitive business tycoon, Vijay Mallya whose foray in the media business is shown by his connection to NDTV.

2. Salil Shetty was previously Chief Executive of ActionAid and Director, United Nations Millennium Campaign. Sonia Gandhi’s henchman, Harsh Mander had earlier been the head of ActionAid.

3. Suzanne Nossel, Executive Director of Amnesty International USA, was drawn directly from the US State Department, again, utterly contradicting Amnesty's claims of being "independent" of governments and corporate interests.

4. George Macfarlane, formerly with Greenpeace International and Oxfam.

5. Minar Pimple, Senior Director of Global Operations at Amnesty International was Regional Director of the United Nations Millennium Campaign, and Oxfam India.

6. Divya Iyer, Research Manager at Amnesty International, India was previously with NDTV, AajTak and CNN-IBN.

7. Carolyn Hardy, a co-opted member of Amnesty, was with the United Nations and UNICEF.

8. Anantapadmanabhan, Executive Director at Amnesty International India, was formerly Executive Director, Greenpeace India.

9. Govind Acharya, India Director of Amnesty International (country specialist) notable for his role in building the anti-Modi narrative in the aftermath of the Gujarat riots. His other "contribution" includes providing theoretical and propagandist fodder for the nation-wrecking Right to Food.

Amnesty International is also closely allied with Human Rights Watch, another multinational NGO. And George Soros is one of the more generous benefactors of Human Rights Watch.

The deeper one probes the more deadly stuff emerges. In reality, Amnesty International is just one of the more enormously powerful and lavishly funded weapons in the demonic West's unquenchable thirst for global domination: i.e., plunder and rapine leading to war.

This is a terrifying global complex of NGO-Human Rights-Western Governments-Church and it is accountable to none. What is even worse is the fact that it exerts solid influence in an international body like the United Nations.

For the only surviving non-Abrahamic civilisation like India, this has proven lethal...if we still don't learn anything from the near-total capture of the Indian state by the NAC for ten long years, there is little hope left for a civilisational future for India.
